Wanted to post a link to something I find disturbing. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/06/19/begala.health.care/index.html This type of mistreatment of people should be a crime! If I pay for insurance, the insurance company shouldn't be trying to find a way to avoid helping me, unless they prove it was fraud. I am pretty sure that I pay my insurance company to pay when I get sick. I understand they have shareholders who want profits, but shouldn't their first priority be providing the healthcare their customers need and pay for? I am sure there are plenty of examples of this type of abuse by insurance companies. If you have examples, post your links in the comments. |

My oldest son put together a Mario Brothers story and I promised him that I would post it online. He wants to be an author/illustrator when he grows up. He is off to a good start. The link is below if you want to take a look. If you don't see the nice embeded item for the download, please use this link. http://1qjdiw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pQmrtsMNXN0PaBluNhnLcf2SM9g17O6bgy... |

It has been a long time since Jen and I found something that we like to do together and that we actually have time for. We have 4 kids that makes it very tough to coordinate anything together. We decided to purchase Rock Bank 2 over the weekend to give it a try. I have to say it is the most fun I have had in a long time. Jen and I formed a band and played after the kids went to bed. At one point we were giving each other high fives. I have to say that it was a huge hit with us and we both enjoy it. Only time will tell if this game truly becomes a family night event. I would really love to see the kids playing along with us. We have to have something to do when it is cold outside. The kids have Dance Dance Revolution 2 and now we have Rock Band 2. If you want a good family night game, I suggest one or both of these. |

Day 3 and 4 of PDC were filled with more of the same as the first two days. The cloud, silverlight and parallel programming dominated the sessions. I managed to attend a session on SharePoint that was very good for me. It was a basic level class showing how to add silverlight to a SharePoint webpart. So what is my take away from PDC? I would hope that we decide to use these technologies sooner than later. We have, in the past, not jumped at using new things. We must break this thought process and move forward to keep our applications up to date with what the industry is doing. I took away a good idea of what is coming and what is already here for us to use. I also realized how much there is learn. Then I realized that there is so little time in each day to learn it all. Guess that is just part of life! My outlook for future development using Microsoft technologies is bright, if we actually use them at work. |
